Create a Menu

You can create a menu by selecting items and creating the menu, or by creating a menu and adding items.

1.  Access the POS Menus screen using one of the following methods:

Select items to create a menu: Go to POS > Items and check the checkbox next to the items you want to include in the menu. Click the  icon (More) and select Create Menu. The POS Menus screen appears.

Create a menu and add items: Go to POS > Menus and click Create Menu. The POS Menus screen appears.

2.  Specify menu information:

Menu Name: Enter the menu name (for example, LUNCH).

Serving Period: Select a serving period (usually BREAKFAST or LUNCH).

Items: Click Items to display categories and items.

Click the drop-down arrow to reveal the list of categories and then select the category for the items you need. You can have up to five categories per menu palette.

To add an item to the menu, drag and drop the item on the menu palette.

You can add an item to multiple categories.

You can optionally create a separate tab for each serving period or to support additional categories. Each menu palette can have up to four tabs. Click the + sign tab to add a tab.

Terminals: Assign the menu to the appropriate terminal.

Select the terminals you want to assign the menu to.

To assign the menu to terminals for specific schools, expand the terminal and select the appropriate schools.

3.  Use the following features to customize the menu.

Click the  icon (Button Gradients) to change the button gradients (click to toggle button colors on/off).

Click the  icon (Resize Buttons) to change the size of the buttons to small (S), medium (M), or large (L).

To reorder items in a group, drag and drop a menu item to where you want it to appear in the list. To reorder the categories, drag and drop a category to where you want it to appear.

Double-click an item on the menu tab to remove the item. The item will reappear in the Items list.

To select a single meal item to auto sale, click on the button. A red A is added to the left bottom corner of the button to indicate that it is an auto sale item. You can only select one item for auto sale and it must be a meal item (not an a la carte item). To remove auto sale from an item, click the red A.

4.  Click Save.
