PIN Settings

1.  Go to Admin > Schools.

2.  On the Schools page, click More Details for the school for which you want to configure settings.

3.  Enter your settings on the PIN Settings tab:

PIN Settings

    PIN Length: Specify the maximum number of digits (4 – 10) allowed for a customer’s personal identification number (PIN).

    Pad PIN Input With Zeros: Check this checkbox to allow the user to enter PINs that have leading zeros without requiring the entry of the zeros for the number to be accepted. To use this feature, all PINs must have the number of digits specified in the PIN Length field.

Student PIN Generator/Adult PIN Generator

    Randomly Generate PIN: Check this checkbox to automatically create and assign a PIN for each new customer record.

    Prevent Leading Zeros: Check this checkbox to automatically remove leading zeros from the customer PIN. This feature is used when setting PINs based on the customer ID.

    Use same settings for Adults: Check this checkbox to apply the Student PIN settings to the Adult PIN settings.

    Customer ID as PIN Source: If the Randomly Generate PIN checkbox is unchecked, the Customer ID as PIN Source options are enabled.

Left of ID: Select this option if PINs are to be created based on the specified number of characters from the left of the customer ID.

Right of ID: Select this option if PINS are to be created based on the specified number of characters from the right of the ID of the customer ID.

    Append to PIN: Check this checkbox to add leading characters when PINs are created or imported that do not contain the number of characters specified in the PIN Length field.

Append: Select Front or End from the drop-down list to specify whether the characters specified in the with field are added to the front or end of the PIN.  

with: Enter the number that is placed in the customer's PIN when the Append to PIN checkbox is checked.

4.  Click Save.
